Believe it or not...Mr. Roger's(Mr. Roger's Neighborhood) is Greek...He became a brother in Phi Mu Alpha during college...He was also in the Marine Corp and was an ordained minister...Must have been interesting...Mystic Cat32

the theta chi's have stephen speilburg. and if dr. seuss's wife wasn't really a sigma kappa, there are some HUGE coincidences in how the grinch stole christmas. it makes ya wonder. . .

Sorry to revisit this post, but I just found out that Ben Savage ("Boy Meets World" and Fred's little brother) is a Sigma Chi at Stanford. I had thought that he joined the SAE's, since Fred is an SAE from Stanford, but he didn't...He is a Junior to be, I think...

The head of the Girl Scouts of America...forgive me but I can't think of her name, is a Kappa Delta AND a graduate of Lawrence University (see the link in my signature)...

Yes, she is. :) her name is Marjorie Mehne Culmer and Girl Scouts is one of our biggest philanthropies! :)

Georgia O'Keefe-artist

Pearl Buck-Pulitzer prize winner

Bonnie Dunbar-astronaut

Ali Landry-"Doritios Girl"

Ellen Albertini Dow- the old lady in The Wedding Singer who sang Rappers Delight

Lori Beecher-producer of NBC news

Sarah James- Dateline NBC Correspondent

That is all I can think of now :)

i had heard that georgia o'keefe was a theta? the theta's on my campus have a big poster of o'keefe pansies in their suite...

mrs. day, of day's inn hotels, she's an adpi :) one of the sisters that i met at our conference this summer knows her, i believe.

i know this is a repeat, but i feel the need to say it.. i dont know about the rumor of letterman failing out to be true, but if it is, that is odd.. seeing as he donated SO much money to have a whole new building built there, he wanted the new stadium named after him, and he paid the morgtage on the sig chi house (you should see the thing, its like a friggin apartment complex!).. so whether he made it out or not, he sure does claim it.. and if anyone is interested, i do have some pictures of biff from homecoming...if anyone wants to see them, i can scan em..

The only famous AZD I can think of is Jim Henson's wife. Fozzie the bear was named after us (the Fuzzies!).

Well, I can say with total confidence, that SAI can claim the following:

Sheryl Crow (U of Missouri)
Sheryl Crow was also a Theta at the University of Missouri (Alpha Nu Chapter).

Georgia O'Keefe was not a Theta. Probably the sisters just liked the pansies!

kddani 07-14-2002 04:28 PM

Georgia O'Keefe was a Kappa Delta at our Beta chapter- Chatham Episcopal

CutiePie2000 07-14-2002 04:28 PM

Georgia O'Keeffe is a Kappa Delta and one of their most famous ones, at that! :D

She is from Beta chapter at Chatham Episcopal - the KD website describes her as a famed artist and recipient of the nation's highest civilian honor, the Medal of Freedom.

Brother Rogers is still an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church. FWIW.

He graduated, but I heard at least one semester he didnt make grades. Sorry if I implied that he failed out. But I know he was not a student at all. He always jokes about it on his show.
