One day, I was sure I'd be picking out my powder blue dress and hat; the next, I was more than confident that I'd have to prepare for a sorting.

Congratulations on a happy ending! Now that Hogwarts' identity is out in the open, what is Beauxbatons code for and is "powder blue" a clue? And can you share how you found out you received a bid? Thanks, good luck, and best wishes.

Congratulations to you and SDT!!! This was a great thread, thank you so much for sharing. I rarely get into these recruitment threads, but I've read every post! You are a wonderful, creative, and thoughtful writer.

Congratulations!!! I hope that your sorority experience is everything you ever hoped it would be!!

I'm assuming that Beauxbatons is UCLA :)

Yes indeed!

Since I've been through recruitment now and I'm done, I may as well tell you all: my family is such a mixed family in terms of UCLA/USC. I have two uncles and one went to each; my mother went to UCLA and my dad went to USC. I have a cousin who did undergrad at UCLA and grad at USC. I'm the sixth in my immediate family to go to USC and, if we're counting any relation as a "legacy," I am a megaleg to USC (I'm the eighth in my family to be a Trojan!).

The weirder thing: my mother tried to colonize SDT at UCLA (I think it went in and out at UCLA...I don't know. If anyone knows about how that went, she was involved during the period when they bought the house), but it never got off the ground.

Again, thank you all so much for following my story!

Thank you all! I'm going to miss posting this! But I'm so glad to have found my home. :) psusue, that is one excellent Dumbledore quote. It would also make an amazing signature. :) I wish I had a book of Dumbledore quotes-he really "said" some inspiring things.

That's a good question. I actually don't know the number. :/ kaeb, do you know?

Here is a small list from one of my favorite websites of all time. Dumbledore is seriously just the best.

So very happy for your happy ending! SDT is lucky to have you!

I don't know exactly how many new mems are in her new member class, but tonight is bid night so we should know then :) I believe her class is about the same size as mine, though.

Hooray for melinda warren, for kaeb and the sisters of Sigma Delta Tau!!!

melinda, just because you are sorted doesn't mean that you can't hang with us. After all, the Harry Potter books did not end when the sorting did!

Congratulations!

I am so happy for you but very selfishly sorry for all of us that you followed your story.
We love reading your wonderful writing! But you have much to do - class to attend & sisters to get to know. Much happiness to you.

SDT and UCLA: While I pledged at USC (AEPhi), I graduated from UCLA. When I was an AEPhi at UCLA there was an active SDT chapter at UCLA. Fast forwarding a few years: My next door neighbor was an SDT at UCLA. She graduated about 1977 or so...yes, they had a house. And they were smaller (in numbers) than AEPhi. I will say that the former neighbor was VERY close to several of her sisters. They had a monthly get together. And I saw a few of them (separately) come over. (No, I wasn't looking over the fence. This was the time of my life that was one big transportation company. I was always coming or going.) So, in the 70s there was an SDT house on Hilgard. I believe it was at the southern end of Hilgard, closer to the village.
