Horray! Spring Recruitment 2012 is just around the corner! The date's aren't set yet, but its going to be very different this year!!

Last year all houses had to table on the open information day in the Union, now only chapters that will be extending bids will be there. I'm quite happy that was changed - so many girls were upset that the house they fell in love with was not extending bids!
Also, the next day (hopefully, it may vary depending on the school calender) will be an open-house day for each chapter. Plus, PNMs will be required to visit each house.
So, it is still informal, but with a bit more structure than in previous years.

I am very excited that it is coming up - Spring Recruitment is my favorite!!

Just a little edit point - it says meet the sorority women at their houses, but the event is at the Union in the Grand Ballroom.

So, in the information session are the houses going to have tables set up? Or will we only be talking to the chapters at their houses?

The first night is at the Union and the second is at the houses. Looks like the best of both worlds.

Yeah, this is the first spring we're doing this (that I've seen).

So, to better explain the poor editing the maker had:
There will be in info/tabling session in the union and at another time PNMs will visit each house that is participating. If I am not mistaken, PNMs must visit all houses (that are participating) as they do in the fall.

I just thought I'd point it out because the interested girls might also be confused. The fact that it's 2 nights, and the 2nd night is at the chapter houses is fantastic, but that's not what it says.

A few of the moms I babysit for asked me if I wanted recs, is it a good idea to get those for spring rush?

From reading earlier posts on this thread it seems we won't find out who is participating until we get there. Should I just send recs to the sororities I can get them for just in case they are participating?

Yes. It can't hurt.

If there's a chance you will be rushing again in the fall, you will need the alumnae to re-send the recs, though, so you may want to ask them this time around to xerox them and hang on to a copy.
