Hope you all stay safe out there.

I just spent the past 2 or 3 hrs digging out myself and most of my neighbors.

You know, it really pisses me off to see a lot of the women get out and dig and the few men that I know who live in this complex are either in the house or staring out at the 2 or 3 of us digging.

One idiot asked from his front door if we could dig his mom's car out so she could go to the store.

Dallas ISD is closed tommorrow. DISD never closes, so the snow here must be pretty serious if DISD is on lockdown. Me, I'll be enjoying my second snowday:cool: yeah for my school following the Lewisville ISD calendar:D

Metro Atlanta is expecting 3 inches by this evening. This means that all the eggs, bread and milk in the stores will be gone and there will be lines at the gas stations. Nobody panics better than Atlantans.

Yep. That's gonna put a damper on everyone's All Star plans.

DFW and Love Field are just now getting back on track, so a bunch of people are likely going to be getting here late. Oh well. I won't be partaking in A-S festivities.

I saw a weed killing tool in a catalog a few months ago, and seriously considered ordering it. It was like a small propane tank with a wand & nozzle. Now I really wish I had it, to clear my driveway!

Aha! Found it! Mini Dragon Propane Torch! I wonder if my insurance is paid up?

ETA: This one seems a bit safer!

Priceless! Simply priceless!

Looks like we're back under another Winter Storm Warning, according to the weather folks. Just what we need here, more snow!!!!!

SNOW IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AS A STORM SYSTEM MOVES TOWARD THE MIDDLE OHIO VALLEY. SNOW... HEAVY AT TIMES... IS EXPECTED ON MONDAY. SNOW WILL DIMINISH IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY MONDAY NIGHT. TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 9 INCHES ARE EXPECTED... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.

I adopted two kitties Friday so I need to add their food and litter (as well as water) to my emergency kit. The last thing I need during a disaster is a cat without the food it likes or the litter it likes crapping and complaining while we're snow bound or trying to make it to safety.

There are discussions around here that the government wasted somewhere around 100 million dollars just in calling off work last week. Ridiculous. And after an hour-long flurry yesterday afternoon that didn't even stick to the ground, the gov't was delayed 2 hours today.

Now, I'm originally from the snowbelt and am used to big storms, so I know I'm biased. But come on.

On another note, anyone make it to the Dupont snowball fight?? I tried to walk to the corner of my street a few days ago and literally almost blew over a couple of times. I walked into Marvin's looking like I had just spent a week outside in the Arctic Circle.

I got downtown this morning and there are lots of invisible ice patches, places where snow still hasn't been properly shoveled and so on...now for those that are complaining about the money that was wasted last week knew about or dealt with the train derailment on the Red line last Friday ?

This area is not used to dealing with this kind of snow on the regular. This is not Colorado.
