There is this AWESOME salsa/merengue club that you have to hit!! I have not been able to find a salsa/merengue club as good as this one anywhere else, including San Antonio!!!

The name of the club is Elvia's. There are two in town, but I have only been to the one on Westheimer and Fondren. I went to school in Houston for a semester and we would all hit that club at least once a week. It is not the size of your average club. It is smaller, but boy, I love the atmosphere! It is a restaurant turned night club at 9:00. so there are tables everywhere, except for on the dance floor. So just make sure that you call in reservations if you do decide to go. And no, you do not need to eat dinner there in order to have a reservation. All you need to do is get there by 10:00. Try to make it out there if you can. I love this place sooo much!!

There are free latin dance lessons from 8:00-9:00 on Wednesday evenings.

And there is no cover for ladies on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. (When I was there for school, these are the days when we would go)

I am a Houston gurl and I would vote for the Kemah Boardwalk (T-Bone Toms-good BBQ rest.), Astros field, astroworld, galleria mall, IMAX...
