Question The Passion

Do you think the new movie "The Passion" is a big deal or not a big deal.

I for one can't wait to see it, everything else seems so trivial compared to it. Mel Gibson is the shit, my favorite movie hands down is Braveheart.

What do you think?

I don't think it is a big deal... it's been heavily pre-hyped but that's true of any movie these days esp. big budget ones. There was a lot of talk of it featuring unsubtitled aramaic for extra authenticity etc but I don't believe that's the case in the release version anymore. Then again I appreciate there'll always be interest given the subject matter plus the fact there arguably haven't been any major films on this since Scorcese's 1988 film 'The Last Temptation of Christ'. I'd have to look into it more to guess whether it'll be successful long term.

Anyway, big thread about it in the General Chat Topics - Entertainment forum where movies, albums etc generally get talked about rather than the main chitchat forum, here. The thread is tucked away on the second page. 'Cause I'm helpful like that here's a link.

With you on the Mel Gibson being a good actor, esp. in films like The Man Without a Face, which not many actors could've carried off so well.
