As elitist as that attitude may seem, it is those kind of girls that make a chapter run and continue to grow successfully. I can respect any girl that feels as strong about their letters as I do for my own.

Great point, Melanie.

Hey everybody:

While the subject matter is very interesting, we have to remember that what is "elite" for one person may mean something totally different to another. I am a Phi Sigma Sigma alumni, and believe me, when you've been out of school for as long as I have, you're going to realize that it's not the sorority name that's important, but the friendships that you make and conserve after your college experience. I've been out of school for almost 11 (oh my God! Has it been that long already?!) years, and my best friend and roommate is still one of my very best friends. Yes, being a part of a sorority promotes unity, and a feeling of belonging, and being a greek has its advantages, but as we've all agreed, we all love our letters, whatever they may be...

Aim high!!!

Funny, somedays I read these types of posts and laugh. Other days, I don't find any very amusing. I LOVED what SAEactive said-

I can see trying to figure out the various strengths of our fellow fraternities and sororities because that is how we all improve our own organizations, but to ask who are the "elite" seems, at least to me, to contradict what being Greek is at least supposed to be about. The word suggests a sense of superiority over others which is a dangerous position to believe oneself to be in.

Omyer24 is correct-

I have enjoyed "meeting" the people of GC who are members of GLOs I NEVER heard of. Yet, upon reading these threads, you get a feeling for their strength in different regions.
Let's hope that those who find distinction in the "letters" as oppossed to the sisterhood remain exactly where they are and never have the misfortune to move to an area where their name doesn't carry the punch it did on their college campus.

I'm SURE this doesn't apply to anyone here...

The Elite Group

Personally, I believe that the elitest group on any campus is the Recruitment Counselors (formerly known as Rho Chis). These women represent every aspect of Greek Life and represent every sorority on campus. These work so hard to promote Greek Life and should be considered as the elite. Every university is different and every National Chapter is different. At Florida Atlantic University, one of the weakest sororities in Panhellenic is the strongest on our campus, while one of the stronger is the weakest. What I am basically saying is that you shouldn't rank sororities, because no matter where you go they are different. Just in case you were wondering the sororities that are on our campus are:
(not listed in any particular order)
Alpha Xi Delta
Delta Phi Epsilon
Phi Sigma Sigma
Theta Phi Alpha

Cara
VP of Recruitment
