Ladies, "That Time" Is Almost Here

You talented, caring, bright, and lovely ladies of GC have discussed this before, but just a reminder:

as of Tuesday, September 2 -- NO WHITE SHOES, at least not in areas of the USA (or specific social circles) where "the rule" applies.

Don't forget all straw shoes and handbags, as well as linen clothing.

I'm sorry but this rule does not apply to Missouri, where the temp was 111 last week. We usually are in the 80's until October.

When the weather moves into fall, so will I!!

This rule doesn't apply in California, either. We've got at least 6-8 more weeks of summer weather.

AMEN to that! Around the end of October when it finally cools down I might stash away my summer things. Until then, forget it!

There's a difference between "summer things" and wearing straw, linen, and white shoes.

Its going to be hot down here in Louisiana for a few more months. So I'm not going to stop wearing khaki shorts and black flip flops, etc.

I have a white linen dress for my engagement party tomorrow night. When I bought the dress I informed everyone that the party had to be before labor day.

I made sure to wear all my linen and white skirts one last time this week. My mama raised me right

33girl, you're most welcome. Glad my public service announcement helped.

My mom raised me right, as well. But in CA, we do not have these social "rules" about white before or after labor day.

That said, I personally find white shoes tacky. But that's my thing.

The white shoes rule applies in Florida.

But the linen thing doesn't. It stays in the 80's here well through October. Too damn hot to wear heavy clothing!

Ok, fashion-savvy GC'ers...can I sport my white shoes if I will be wearing them in Montego Bay?
