A question for all Greeks...
i was on another chat line and saw this question and i thought it would cool and interesting to post up in the General Greek Chat Forum.
The question is for the BGLOS, GLO, MGLOS and other brotherhoods or sisterhoods that frequent greekchat.
i will pose it in two parts:
Women:
if you were a male and could become a member in any male fraternity, which one would it be and why??
Men:
if you were a female and could become a member of any sorority, which one would it be and why?
again this for those that have already gained membership in their prespective organizations.
****please be respectful in answering this questions and do keep all immature comments to yaself****

If I were a male and were to join a fraternity I think it would be LXA- Lambda Chi Alpha. All of the guys in the chapters I have met (from three schools) are really nice, down to earth, not egotistical and very proud of their organization. They seem to put values in front of everything that I see them do. Although I do have a lot of friends that are Sig Ep's and I love them too... I just don't think I would fit in with the ideals of their national organization as well as Lambda Chi's.

Being that I am a Finerwoman, there is no question that it would Phi Beta Sigma.

Wow, good question I think if I was a guy, (ok first off no guys take any offense , I love all my greek brothers, and don't want anyone to feel left out )
In BGLO, I would have to say The Sigma's or the Kappa Kappa Psi's from Morgan State
most of them who I have met have been real nice guys and just pure gold.
GLO's I am gonna have to say SAE, they can just be too cool, and oh the brothers of SAM
In the MGLO's I'll have to say the Beta Xi Chis, actually all of them
But I love all my greek brothers so I would want to be all of them , One and Alwyas Much Love

cool question!
If I were a guy--and were to be a member of a fraternity when I was in college (10 yrs ago!) I would have been either a Sigma Chi or Beta. They were awesome and cool at my school. Great groups of guys.

I never would have thought of this.....well....if I was a guy, and going "blindly" into one, and what I mean by that is that I dont know too too much about them, but from what I do know of them as beign really nice guys, I would go with Pi Kappa Phi.

Wow, this is a hard question. I think if I were a guy, I would have picked TKE. They were the most down to earth men I ever met!

This is a great question. If I was a guy, I think I would pick SAE. They are great guys here and they're growing in numbers. I think they've also been voted the most outstanding fraternity two years in a row at my school.

Cool Question!
Amycat412-Thank You
At George Mason, if I were a lady and from my past experience(4 years ago)from the girls I've known in each sorority, I would say Chi Omega. Alpha Phi would be a strong second. (Both are very pretty, smart, and nice girls). Now, beyond George Mason(nationally) if I went to another school(assuming they were at that school). My first choice would definitely Kappa Alpha Theta.

It is a great question...
As an alum, this is hard to answer, but...
Had I answered it 30 something years ago when I was in school it would have come down to either Pi Beta Phi or Chi Omega.
The were both excellent.

I'm not sure that this is a question that can be accurately responded to (for me, at least).
I really don't know what it is to be male, and I would imagine that men join fraternities for reasons different from why women join sororities or women's fraternities. True, there might be fraternities and sororities that have similar purposes, but fundamentally, I imagine that the men's experience in their fraternity would be different from the women's experience in their fraternity.
I can admire a fraternity's purpose, goals and ideals, and even hope that them men in my life embody those ideals (perhaps by even affiliating with that fraternity). Yet I think that would be the extent of it - admiration and appreciation, without the wish for affiliation.
Having said that ( ), I most admire the goals and ideals of Triangle Fraternity - they place a value on brotherhood, as well as individual brothers' development as a person and a professional. I have much love for the brothers of the Oklahoma Chapter. I'd encourage any young man to check them out!

I think that at my school if I were a guy I would pick Phi Lambda Chi. I don't think I've ever heard them mentioned on this board, but here they were always my favorite. I used to feel like I had a bunch of big brothers on campus, and I could always go to their parties by myself if I wanted to and just hang out with the guys. I would have NEVER done that with any other frat! Plus, their advisor is the city mayor. How cool is that?

I'm kind of tied between Phi Beta Sigma and Kappa Alpha Psi.
I think that if I was a man right now ( I know that sounds strange to me too,) I would be a Phi Beta Sigma
However, about two years ago I would probably have been a Kappa
Well that's if they wanted me.......lol
