But I'm really not that surprised as I used to attend that church with my ex-boyfriend. They are normally that extra!

The wedding above was gorgeous;however, THAT IS TOOOOO MANY DANG PEOPLE IN A WEDDING!!!!! lol I thought my cousin had a lot (30)........

Yes. They can. ETA: The guy could be moderately disabled...

I had a post, but I didn't send it.
All I can say is "whewwwwwwwww".

2 Moderately mentally disabled students married from my school. They cursed each other out...fought, etc. Their parents approved of the marriage (they too were "challenged), fortunately, children were not born. Sally and John (names changed) are no longer married.

ETA#2: The bride probably is challenged as well. Looking at those pics, some of those others probably are too.

^^ Yep, you're right. I think that in certain circumstances (depending on the severity of the handicap) the parents/legal guardians just have to give their consent. The bride does look a little off too.

My younger brother got married last December and has Asperger's Syndrome (a high-functioning form of autism) to a woman with similar traits. I say all that to say that the ceremony was pretty ghetto, but being the best man in the wedding party, it went in such a way that only a family such as ours could pull it off. And I had a good time nonetheless.

First the wrong music played when the bride came down the aisle (the traditional wedding "departure" music), then when everyone left, "Here Comes the Bride" played. *LOL*

The reception was held in a small house presumably a former parsonage since it was right in front of the church, where about 50-60 of us crammed in three rooms and ate a dinner that my mother prepared at home--delicious. Ham, green beans, and mac and cheese (and I almost didn't get any since it ran out so soon--I had to eat the mac & cheese that my nephew didn't want, but it was better than nothing). I ate 4 slices of wedding cake to compensate. Then the bride and groom were whisked away to a fancy downtown hotel to spend their honeymoon. We didn't dance or party or anything like that--b/c there was no room to do it. But danggoneit, being it was December, the day was mighty COLD! Anyhow...

But I enjoyed being the best man and my younger brother had a great time, and that's all that matters.

Having said all that, I hope my wedding isn't nearly as ghetto

ETA: Because of their handicap, there were not legally married; they just had a formal ceremony and a signed wedding certificate, no marriage license.
