There is this AWESOME salsa/merengue club that you have to hit!! I have not been able to find a salsa/merengue club as good as this one anywhere else, including San Antonio!!!

The name of the club is Elvia's. There are two in town, but I have only been to the one on Westheimer and Fondren. I went to school in Houston for a semester and we would all hit that club at least once a week. It is not the size of your average club. It is smaller, but boy, I love the atmosphere! It is a restaurant turned night club at 9:00. so there are tables everywhere, except for on the dance floor. ;) So just make sure that you call in reservations if you do decide to go. And no, you do not need to eat dinner there in order to have a reservation. All you need to do is get there by 10:00. Try to make it out there if you can. I love this place sooo much!! :)

There are free latin dance lessons from 8:00-9:00 on Wednesday evenings. :D

And there is no cover for ladies on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. (When I was there for school, these are the days when we would go)

I am a Houston gurl and I would vote for the Kemah Boardwalk (T-Bone Toms-good BBQ rest.), Astros field, astroworld, galleria mall, IMAX...
